Oakland came from behind to take a fourth-quarter lead and stopped Lipscomb at the three-yard line as time expired for a 29-21 win at Ray Hughes Stadium.

The Mustangs scored on the opening drive of the game to take a 7-0 lead. After an Oakland fumble, they took over deep in Patriot territory. But a goal-line stand kept the score at 7-0 after one-quarter.

Oakland tied the game with 3:12 left in the first half after recovering a Lipscomb Academy fumble:

The Mustangs were able to score just before the half on an Alex Broome 2-yard run to take a 14-7 lead. Third quarter scoring happened late with Lipscomb Academy taking a 21-7 lead with 1:13 to play on Broome's third touchdown. After the ensuing kickoff, Oakland's Jordan James breaks off a big score:

The Patriots took the lead with 6:21 to play on a James one-yard plunge and a successful two-point conversion gave them the 22-21 advantage. Oakland quarterback Kade Hewitt's sneak with 1:39 to play put them up by eight. The Mustangs were able to drive to the Oakland three before another goal line stand as time expired gave them the victory.

James finished the game with over 200-yards on 17-carries and two TD's. Broome had three TD's and 104-yards on 16-carries. LA quarterback Luther Richesson was 20-of-24 passing for 132-yards and one-touchdown.

The Patriots get back into region play next Friday night as they host Blackman.
