Alice Swinford, Paramedic, was honored by The Exchange Club of Murfreesboro on Wednesday October 6, 2021 as the Rutherford County EMS of the year at a special luncheon at Through the Grapevine restaurant.
Carl Hudgens, Director of The Rutherford County Emergency Medical Service said “Alice has shown loyalty and unselfish dedication to the citizens of Rutherford County and Rutherford County EMS, which has not gone unnoticed. Alice has taken on the “Community Paramedicine Program Project” and once it is implemented will be the first program in the state.”
Alice Swinford has been employed with Rutherford County EMS for 27.5 yrs. and is a true servant to the citizens of Rutherford County and a star to the profession.

Paramedic Alice Swinford accepts The Exchange Club of Murfreesboro “EMS of the Year Award” with Carl Hudgens, Director Rutherford County EMS. Representing The Exchange Club are Brian Hongsermeier, Club President 2021-2022 and Club Treasurer, Don Wright.
For years The Exchange Club has honored our law enforcement officers and our local fire fighters. It was realized that a key contributor in the community was EMS, and The Exchange Club started in 2019 recognizing the outstanding Emergency Medical Services with an annual award.
