October is known as National Co-op month, which is a great time to slow down and thank those who work for Middle Tennessee Electric.
The local utility provider was founded in 1936 and converted into a cooperative in 1939. At the time, the organization provided electricity to the more rural areas of Rutherford County. As the community grew, so did the member-owned electric provider.
While National co-op month may be a time to thank cooperatives that serve their community, Middle Tennessee Electric is showing their appreciation to the community they serve.
