MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – WGNS has more news on a shooting that took place this past Saturday evening (Nov. 6, 2021).

Evidently, someone opened fire as a woman was leaving a party at 1540 Place Apartments on Lascassas Pike in Murfreesboro. Bullets struck the vehicle that the female victim was in and detectives confirmed that multiple shots hit the woman. The female was seriously injured during the shooting, according to police.

The 18-year-old victim was in the backseat of the car when someone began shooting into the parking lot of the apartment complex. Again, the incident occurred around 10:30, this past Saturday night.

The victim was shot multiple times and friends drove her to a nearby gas station to get away from the gunfire.  Medics responded and took her to the hospital for treatment.

Public Information Officer Larry Flowers told WGNS NEWS on Tuesday (11/9/21), that the victim remains in critical but stable condition.  Flowers also confirmed that no arrests have been made, as of November 9th.

As for the motive behind the shooting, police believe the victim was involved in an altercation with another female earlier in the night at the party.
