A tornado watch has been issued for Rutherford County until 6pm. Storms could turn severe with tornadoes possible.
Severe weather is possible today to start off the new year. Storms are expected this afternoon and evening, some which could be severe with high winds and possible tornadoes. The Storm Prediction Center has placed Rutherford County and much of Tennessee in an enhanced risk (level 3 of 5 on the severe weather scale). Stay weather aware today and have a way to get possible watches and warnings if they're issued for the area.
