UPDATE: Earthquake in McMinnville, Tennessee

Did you hear about the small earthquake just a hop, skip and jump away from Rutherford County? It happened this past Tuesday on the night of January 18, 2022 in the McMinnville, Tennessee area.

The earthquake registered at 2.3 in magnitude, according to the Center for Earthquake Research and Information. Data shows the quake hit the Warren County area at 11:33 PM (CST).  The depth of the earthquake came in a 8.6-miles.

The earthquake epicenter was in the area of Harrison Ferry Road and Long Mountain Road.

This past August 25, 2021, another earthquake was recorded in Bedford County, TN. That quake, similar to the recent report out of Warrant County, was also recorded at 2.3 in magnitude at 1:19AM (CST). It was reported to be about 8.3-miles below the earths surface and happened in the area between Scales Road and Halls Mill Road near Highway 41 in Shelbyville, TN.
