(MURFREESBORO) If you love local history, don't miss the monthly meeting of the Rutherford County Historical Society. It will be 7:00 o'clock this coming Monday night (2/21/2022) at the Carriage Lane Reception House (337 East Burton Street, Murfreesboro).
Seventh generation Rutherford Countian Gilbert Gordon will be presenting stories from his new book “Ramblings”, along with the Gordon family history that should keep listeners engaged for the evening.
Both Gilbert and Ginny will be at the meeting to answer your questions. They live on 180 acres of the original Gordon farm dating back to the early 1800s. This couple have transformed the farm into something very special for many future generations of young people to come.
The farm is the location of the private Cedar Hill School which uses the rural farm setting as a backdrop for an education based on principals from early and today’s academia for the students.
Being a writer, Gordon found the desire to compose the untold details of growing up among the Gordon history and the many happenings of the family along Rock Springs Road in southwestern rural area of Rutherford County.
