Officially, the change to Daylight Savings Time is at 2:00 o’clock this Sunday morning (3/13/2022). Since most people don’t wake-up at that early morning hour to set their clock, it makes more sense to add one hour to your clock before you go to bed this Saturday night.
If your clock reads 10:00PM, change it to read 11:00PM. It's time to change to DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME!

Although the Tennessee General Assembly has looked at the issue of proclaiming year-around Daylight Savings Time, they have never mustered enough votes to get the bill passed.
Many Baby Boomers remember the switch to daylight savings time during their summers in the 50s and 60s. That is when many think the concept began. In reality, time change goes back 1784 when an American inventor, Benjamin Franklin, sparked the idea. He jokingly suggested the change as a way to reduce the waste of candles.
Not much happened with Ben’s idea.
It was a little over a hundred years later (1895), when New Zealand scientist George Hudson made a serious presentation.
There were no takers until 1908 when Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada became the first place to actually switch to Daylight Savings Time.
And on April 30, 1916, the German Empire along with Austria-Hungary organized the first nationwide usage within their jurisdiction.
It is rarely tried in countries around the equator, where sunrise and sunset time do not vary much.
In the 1970's, the energy crisis made the concept "routine" in the U.S. and the world.
