(La VERGNE, TN)  A Friday (3/11/2022) night shooting in La Vergne ended with one person being taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical's Trauma Center after being shot in the area around Floyd Mayfield Drive and R. G. Buchanan Drive area. 

Police say the victim is in critical condition. 

La Vergne officials say the incident occured in the early evening hours in the area between the Veterans Memorial Park and Murfreesboro Road (highway 70S). 

Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and interviews persons in the crime-scene area.
