Smyrna 64 Siegel 41

They were underdogs coming in and winners going out. That was the story for the Smyrna Lady Bulldogs on Friday night in the opening game of the girls District 7-AAA Tournament. After only leading by two points at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Bulldogs were able to grab a comfortable 28-18 lead at the half. Lead by Allie Bolton's 15 points and a 48% team shooting performance the Lady Bulldogs proved to be too much for the Lady Stars and Erika Roberts game high 16 points. Siegel had 16 turnovers on the tonight compared to Smyrna's six. The win will bring the lady Stars season to an end, However the Lady Bulldogs move on to another round to face the undefeated and tournament favorite Riverdale lady warriors on Saturday at 2PM.

Oakland 70  La Vergne 24

The Oakland Lady patriots made a strong statement in the second game of the girls District 7-AAA tournament on Friday night by defeating the La Vergne lady Wolverines 70-24. Oakland simply outplayed La Vergne in every phase of the game, especially on defense where they forced La Vergne into 19 turnovers on the night. Oakland shot 50% form the field compared to La Vergne's 23% and the Lady Patriots were able to out rebound their opponents 40-11. Oakland will move on to play Blackman tomorrow at 5pm
