(Rutherford County, TN) Gardeners will be pleased to know that now is the time to plant warm weather plants, according to Mitchell Mote with the Rutherford County / UT Extension Service

Mote highlighted a few of his favorite warm season crops…

They are called warm season crops because they don’t tolerate frost.

If you need help with your garden, you can always bring a soil sample to the Agriculture Extension office in Murfreesboro to find out what you may need to add to your soil…

For those who lack a green thumb, the Farmers Market will soon solve that problem. The Producer-Only Farmers' Market will open on May 13th at the Lane Agri-Park in Murfreesboro on John R. Rice Blvd.

From May 13th forward, the local Farmer’s Market will be open between the hours of 7am and 12 noon every Tuesday and Friday.

Agriculture Extension Service Office / Lane Agri Park:

The Rutherford County Farmers’ Market is at Lane Agri-Park (315 John R. Rice Blvd. in Murfreesboro - down from Sam's Club & Tractor Supply, next to PAWS).
