(MURFREESBORO)  With temps in the low 70s and a gentle wind, the historic Murfreesboro square was wall-to-wall residents joining together for a night of free music as a gift from Main Street Murfreesboro. Friday Night Live is back in full-swing.

Main Street's Executive Director Sarah Callender said, "In addition to this great gathering, we encourage everyone to join us on the square every Saturday morning for The Marketplace around the historic Rutherford County Courthouse."

The Saturday Marketplace is from 8:00AM to noon and includes fresh produce, flowers, pastries, fresh meats, local honey, and much more.

In fact, Main Street Executive Board member Dr. Gloria Bonner, who was soaking-in the great music and comfortable temperatures, commented, "The turn-out is larger than JazzFest, and that was an awesome event. I just love coming to where you chat with neighbors in such a peaceful setting."

During the break, we talked with the band's representative Rodney Wright . . .

The Pilots band played a variety of favorites from Purple Rain to Proud Mary, and as he noted--they'll be back for Murfreesboro's Celebration Under The Stars this coming 4th of July.

Our hats off to the City of Murfreesboro, everyone felt safe with the heavy emphasis of police throughout the square. They blended-into the fun with officers talking to kids and residents, having fun but obviously there to keep away problems.

Friday Night Live fun events are from 6:30-9:30PM with the main sponsor being Wilson Bank & Trust. The next one is July 1st and features the music of Groove Addiction. On August 5th Mixed Tape comes to the stage. The final round is September 16th and includes 24/7. For more information, check Main Street's website: www.MainStreetMurfreesboro.org.

That's not all, The Boro' Art Crawl along with "Sip, Shop and Stroll" both come to the square and the historic business district from 5:00 to 9:00PM on Thursday evening, June 16, 2022.
