Sat. (July 23, 2022) 5:30-8:30PM "The Legacy Continues" as the Womans Club (221 E. College St.) celebrates 106-years of promoting literacy, history and women's rights. This group started the county's first public library at this

Built in 1856, the beautiful Italianate house became the permanent home to The Woman’s Club in 1916 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. At this location, a group of The Woman's Club's founding members organized and operated the first public lending library in Murfreesboro which served the community until Linebaugh Library opened in 1948. The Woman's Club today preserves and maintains the historic collection.

Guests at the Legacy Gathering will enjoy a delicious small plate and dessert bar provided by Tasty Table and Olive Branch Bakery, along with wine provided by Stones River Total Beverages, as well as tea and other beverages.

Tickets for this event are $75 per person which includes food, music and beverages. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Historic Preservation Fund designated for this beautiful historic building. The Woman’s Club of Murfreesboro is a 501[c][3] and all donations are tax deductible.
