(La Vergne, Tenn.) The City of La Vergne is planning a groundbreaking ceremony alongside BJ’s Wholesale Club to officially welcome the business to the city.
The groundbreaking is scheduled for Thursday, June 23 at 10:00 a.m. at 543 Industrial Blvd., La Vergne, TN 37086. This location will be the first BJ’s Wholesale Club in the state of Tennessee.
“This groundbreaking is a culmination of nearly three years’ worth of work, planning, and conversations by our economic development team and the team at BJ’s Wholesale,” says Economic Development Director Thomas Broeker. “We are determined to bring the best businesses to La Vergne to offer more services within the city limits. BJ’s Wholesale is the beginning of a lot of great things coming to La Vergne and we’re excited to have them be a part of this progress.”
“BJ’s Wholesale Club is very excited to become a part of La Vergne, TN and serve the hard-working families of this great community,” says BJ’s Wholesale Vice President, Corporate Communications Peter Frangie. “We know our members in the greater Nashville region will find value as they shop our club in La Vergne and realize the savings on their family’s everyday needs.”
La Vergne Mayor Jason Cole, Vice Mayor Steve Noe, and Aldermen Graeme Coates, Magen Honeycutt and Dennis Waldron are expected to be in attendance alongside BJ’s Wholesale Director of Real Estate Bill Zanoni and Site Development Manager Marc LaVoie.
“This an exciting time for not only BJ’s Wholesale Club, but for La Vergne, too,” says Mayor Jason Cole. “City staff have been working diligently with BJ’s Wholesale staff to make this possible and bring more shopping options to not only our residents, but our neighbors as well.”
The site will be comprised of the BJ’s Wholesale building and a fuel center along with two outparcels that will be developed for future retail opportunities. Site work has already begun with building construction to begin in the next few months. BJ’s Wholesale hopes to officially open the La Vergne location by January of 2023.
