Murfreesboro resident Natalie Lee, center, donated baby blankets she made to the Sheriff’s Office. Accepting the blankets are, from left, Tina Kapadia, Darlene Spence, Chief Steve Spence and Beth Porter.

(MURFREESBORO)  Many times you have heard this community referred to as "the heart of Tennessee". Originally that referred to being in the geographic center of Tennessee. However, more and more, it's denoting "a place where residents do things for others".

Retired home economics teacher Natalie Lee wants to keep busy. She spends free time knitting and crocheting soft and comfortable baby blankets.
Natalie donated 20 blankets to Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office for deputies to give to babies, children and parents in need. Thank you, Natalie, for your generous gifts.
