(MURFREESBORO) The Exchange Club of Rutherford County has named Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department's Dillon Harris as the 2022 Firefighter of the Year.

Harris was nominated by MFRD Interim Chief Mark McCluskey and Assistant Chief Brian Lowe for his attention to detail with the purchase, inventory, managing and maintenance of equipment of 14 fire apparatus at the 11 fire stations in the city. This is a volunteer role in addition to his regular job as a firefighter.

Interim Chief Mark McCluskey said, “Firefighter Harris has done an outstanding job for our department. He is organized and thorough with inventory and equipment.  He has also saved the city thousands of dollars by shopping around for the best deal on equipment.”

Harris began his career as a firefighter with Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department in August 2018.  He works on Rescue 4 (B-Shift) at Fire Station 4 on Medical Center Pkwy.

Harris previously worked with the Manchester Fire Department.
