For the third time in as many years, the Oakland football team will play for a state championship in the Blue Cross Bowl. The Patriots used explosive plays offensively and great defense enroute to a 38-15 defeat of Maryville. 

The two teams have met in the semifinals for the past nine seasons, with Oakland now winning five of those games.

The Patriots are the two time defending state champions and will battle 13-1 Beech at Chattanooga's Findley Stadium Saturday night at 6pm Murfreesboro time. WGNS will have pregame coverage at 5:30pm with Bryan Barrett, Jon Dinkins and Rod Edwards.
