(MURFREESBORO) At 1:30 Wednesday afternoon (12/28/2022), Murfreesboro Police were called to a Sulphur Springs Road home where a resident reportedly had "suicidal thoughts".
Public Information Officer Larry Flowers told WGNS, "While on the way, dispatch advised that the complainant, heard a gun shot go off at the residence. Upon our arrival, officers made contact with a 31-year-old male who was laying in the living room with a gun shot wound to the upper right thigh."
A tourniquet was applied by officers while the house was secured. The 31-year-old was taken to the hospital to be treated.

(MURFREESBORO) The community was enjoying its first sunny day since Christmas and Murfreesboro Police received an emergency call from someone at a home on Sulphur Springs Road at Myers Drive. Officers arrived at the address that was across the street from the Bethel Community Church. This unknown incident occurred in the 2:00 o'clock hour on Wednesday afternoon (12/28/2022).
WGNS was told by a passerby that lot’s of police activity was occurring, but didn’t know why? Approximately a dozen marked and unmarked police vehicles were at the home and could be seen talking to talk with several persons who were on the porch and also in the lawn. However, police have yet to release information on the situation, but NewsRadio WGNS is looking into it
