“Nicky brings over 10 years of experience working in the Tennessee Convention & Visitors Bureau industry,” said Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce President Paul Latture. “Her understanding of the tourism sector, combined with skill sets in marketing, social media and strategic planning, set her up to help ensure the future success of the Rutherford County CVB.”

Reynolds began her tourism career working for the National Park Service as an interpretive park ranger for the Civil War battlefield, Point Park. From there, she went on to work for the Chattanooga Area Convention & Visitors Bureau as communications coordinator, and within a year, was promoted to marketing manager, overseeing all public relations and marketing aspects.

Her next career move found her roaming the 34 eastern Tennessee counties as the East Tennessee marketing and public relations manager for the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, helping smaller communities learn how to best market their tourism assets. She then served as director of communications for the Oak Ridge Convention & Visitors Bureau for six years, and most recently, as the executive director of the Tourist & Convention Commission in Lebanon, Ky.

Reynolds has been heavily involved in professional organizations such as the Public Relations Society of America, Altrusa International of Oak Ridge, Oak Ridge Heritage & Preservation Association, and the Southeast Tourism Society Board. In addition, she is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Oak Ridge, a 2012 graduate of East Tennessee Regional Leadership, the Southeast Tourism Society’s three-year Marketing College, and the Tennessee Tourism Roundtable’s Certified Tennessee Tourism Professional program.

Reynolds will replace Mona Herring, who will retire from the position after twenty-five years of service to the Chamber of Commerce. Reynolds is slated to begin in late April.
