UPDATE on the CRIMINAL PROCEEDING - 17-Year-old Edmondson was seriously injured on February 18, 2023 while visiting St. Louis, Missouri for a volleyball tournament. She and her parents were walking back to their hotel when an SUV wrecked, causing the teen to be pinned between two vehicles. As a result of the crash and the devastating injuries that Edmondson received, doctors had to amputate both of her legs.

Suspect Daniel Riley was on bond when the crash occurred. At the time, the 21-year-old was under GPS monitoring for a 2020 robbery case. Apparently, he had more than 10-previous GPS monitoring violations when he was arrested for critically injuring Edmondson.

9-Days after the collision, a detention hearing was held for Riley in a St. Louis courtroom. Edmondsons' parents spoke before the court stating their daughter agreed to a volleyball scholarship to attend UT Southern prior to the incident. During that hearing, the courts ordered Riley to remain behind bars.

Riley is currently facing two counts of Assault in the 4th Degree, one count of Assault in the 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Operating a Vehicle on a Highway Without a Valid License. A trial date has been set for April 3, 2023. The suspect will have to remain behind bars until trial.
