TORNADO: "The Corners" Damaged

(READYVILLE, TN)  The 1829 Charles Ready home, known as The Corners on Stones River received heavy damage from the early Saturday (4/1/2023) morning tornado that hit Readyville. See multiple photos of the Readyville area by clicking the above photo

That historic home was on the stagecoach road that connected Knoxville to Nashville. It was also part of the Cherokee's "Trail of Tears" journey. See more photos HERE.

Historians note that The Corners was well-known because of its owner, Charles Ready, Sr., who made significant contributions to Rutherford and Cannon Counties. 

Politicians don't always make everyone happy, and the Rutherford and Cannon County line split the house in two. Half was in one county and the rest was in the other. And yes, property taxes were owed in both counties. That was later changed.
