(MURFREESBORO, TN) Public Safety IT Network Manager Bill Terry is retiring after 26 years of dedicated service to the City of Murfreesboro. Terry was on-the-job during perhaps the greatest changes in both communications as well as forensic investigations.

Terry helped the city through the transition of analogue communications to a state-of-the-art digital operation.

In his earlier years, he did a major upgrades for Murfreesboro police department's telecommunication center from a closet size facility to a massive raised-level complex on the second floor of the old South Church Street location.

Then in 2018 the police moved into a new 136,000 square foot headquarters at 1004 N. Highland Avenue. In that new operation, Bill Terry was able to transition to digital communications using the latest technology, computers that linked and allowed for forensic investigations that are not available except in major cities.

Terry's work not only made the work of peace officers and firefighters safer, but it also enabled them to be more efficient, effective and enable agencies to better serve the public.

The emergency group's FaceBook page says "The men and women of Murfreesboro Police Department and the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department wish you the best! You will be missed."

Thank you Bill Terry!
