(MURFREESBORO) Shortly before 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Murfreesboro Police responded to a two-vehicle T-bone crash at the intersection of Blaze Drive and Fortress Boulevard.

Murfreesboro Police PIO Larry Flowers told WGNS News, "There were only minor injuries, no one was transported to the hospital."

Preliminary information shows a female driver in the silver Ford Explorer attempted to make a left turn onto Fortress Boulevard and collided with the blue Dodge Charger driven by a male. The driver of the Explorer failed to yield the right of way."

Thanks to MPD officers being on the scene quickly, they were able to keep the traffic flowing smoothly.

There were only minor injuries and no one was taken to the hospital.

Now through April 29, 2023, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and local police agencies are working to increase awareness and enforcement to reduce speeding-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities across Tennessee.

“The purpose of the ‘Slow Down Tennessee’ campaign is to address a variety of speed-related issues,” said Director Buddy Lewis of the Tennessee Highway Saftey Office. “All we ask of the motoring public is to be considerate of other roadway users and obey the traffic laws, so everyone can make it home safely.”

Statistics show that motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for U.S. teens, and speeding is often a significant factor.
