People take pets very serious around here. Murfreesboro Police had to respond to the Pet Adoption and Welfare Service office (PAWS) this past Saturday on John Rice Boulevard for a situation involving a customer and the adoption or inquiry of a cat. The responding officer wrote in a filed report that contact was made with a female in the center who was acting irrational, yelling and behaving in an aggressive manner.  Apparently the woman was not happy that PAWS staff would not allow the adoption of a kitten that was in their custody. The female and her adult daughter then asked for the center to “hold” the animal, but PAWS would not grant them that request after the crying and yelling continued.

Police had to advise the two women who were from Alabama to leave the center and not return. The two women were “trespassed” from the property. In other words, if they return, they could be arrested.
