The Murfreesboro Greenway System continues to grow… That was Parks and Rec. Director Nate Williams. He also stated that planning is in place to look at future Greenway trails…

Also in the news – and as a large scale BMX Race with multiple divisions is being held over Memorial Day weekend in Nashville, WGNS asked Williams if Murfreesboro would ever have a BMX course… While there is not a BMX course in the ‘Boro, there are mountain bike trails in Barfield Park.

In the meantime, the local parks and rec. department continues to work on plans for a future skatepark that will be built in Old Fort Park... In addition to the skatepark, the city is also planning to build a “Pump Track..." Again, the skatepark and pump track will be built in Murfreesboro’s Old Fort Park, but an exact timeline has yet to be released.
