SMYRNA, TN - Smyrna Police are investigating the theft of a trailer that has yet to turn up... The trailer in question was stolen from WoodSpring Suites near the Sam Ridley Parkway and I-24 intersection earlier this year in May.

Police have released details on the suspect vehicle, which was described as a silver Chevy Suburban, possibly a 2004 model. The full size SUV was believed to have been driven by a lone male subject. The 6-foot by 12-foot enclosed trailer that was taken was a 2013 Pace American. It was a single axle drop gate trailer with a "V" nose.

In Tennessee, there's no requirement to register utility trailers, boat trailers or farm trailers, which is why trailers are often targeted by thieves. Earlier this year, a newly proposed House Bill was aimed at changing the laws surrounding trailers, however, House Bill 0124 was withdrawn this past February.

Authorities are asking for assistance from the public and if anyone has information regarding the suspect or the stolen trailer in this case or other cases, to please contact Smyrna Detective Steve Martin at (615) 267-5432 or email him at steve.martin@townofsmyrna.org.
