Stolen Vehicles in Rutherford County and within the City of Murfreesboro - Thefts in Nearby Nashville - Videos Included

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN – Between May 1st and June 17th, at least 43 vehicles were reported as stolen in Murfreesboro. Of that number, Saturday proved to be the most popular day for auto thefts in the city limits, followed by Friday as the second most popular day for motor vehicle thefts. The area that recorded the most vehicle thefts in Murfreesboro since May 1 was North of the local square and all the way out to East Northfield Boulevard. According to CrimeMapping.com, 21 vehicles were stolen on the North side of Murfreesboro since May 1st.

Outside the city limits and in Rutherford County, the Sheriff’s Office is investigating several auto burglaries and thefts that took place in the area of Christiana on Thursday, June 8, 2023. In one of the cases that detectives are working on, a home security camera captured two unknown subjects in what appeared to be a white Volvo SUV. The duo were seen in the area of Laramie Court and Matheus Drive. One video showed the suspects opening the unlocked door of a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home.

Another video from the Nickel Trace and Copper Leaf Road area shows the same white SUV leaving the area at 5 a.m. and being followed by black Nissan Altima. That Altima was stolen from another neighbor’s driveway. The 2017 Nissan Altima had a Tennessee license plate on it that bared the numbers, “PD-87681.” The car has yet to be recovered. In another theft that was reported in the same area, a handgun was stolen from a vehicle that was left unlocked. See video by scrolling down.

A camera also caught a thief driving away in another stolen car that was heisted from the Christiana area near the Christiana Schools and Stones River Lane. That case also remains unsolved at this time. Scroll down to see videos.

In nearby Music City, 609 motor vehicle theft reports were filed between May 1st and June 17th. The highest number of thefts were recorded on Saturday and Sunday. In Brentwood, 3-vehicles were stolen between May 1st and June 17th.
