Gas Prices UP by 8-Cents and Diesel Remains in the $3.60 Range

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Average gasoline prices in Tennessee have risen 8.7 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.16/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 3,821 stations in Tennessee. Prices in Tennessee are 6.3 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 74.8 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has risen 2.7 cents in the last week and stands at $3.83 per gallon.

In Rutherford County on Monday morning, average gas prices were recorded at $3.21 per gallon for regular unleaded, according to AAA – the Auto Club. West of Murfreesboro in Williamson County, the average price per gallon is hovering at $3.48, which is currently the highest average price in the Volunteer State. South of Murfreesboro in Bedford County, regular unleaded is averaging $3.17 per gallon. Cannon County is seeing an average price tag of $3.18 per gallon and Wilson County’s average price is $3.17 per gallon. Gas in nearby Music City is selling for an average price of $3.29 per gallon.

The national average price of gasoline has risen 2.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.55/g today. The national average is down 0.4 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 78.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
