UPDATE:Missing Teenage Girl from in Murfreesboro SAFELY LOCATED

UPDATE: According to MPD Public Information Officer Larry Flowers, 17-year-old missing/runaway juvenile Layla Humphrey was found safe in Gallatin, TN on Wednesday. Flowers stated, “Our agency had to wait until her name was officially removed from the National Crime & Information Center database before the missing/runaway - be on the lookout could be canceled.”

PREVIOUS REPORT: Murfreesboro Police are currently working a missing person case that involves a 17-year-old female.

According to police, Layla Humphrey and a sibling left their home in the Battle Avenue area of Murfreesboro on July 17th in the middle of the night. Battle Avenue is directly off Bridge Avenue and sits between Power Avenue and South Kings Highway. The teens sibling was located, but Layla is still missing.

Authorities told WGNS News on Wednesday that the missing 17-year-old has a 'MOM' tattoo on her left arm that says “Mom” and is adorned by flowers. As of last week, her hair was dyed blue and pink. Layla stands at 5-foot 4-inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds.

Layla Humphrey has been entered into the National Crime & Information Center (NCIC) database as a missing person. Police encourage anyone with details on where she could possibly be located to please notify Detective Michael Yates with the Murfreesboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
