Reward Offered for Information in Fatal Hit and Run Crash in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN - The family of Mark Dodd, who was the victim of a fatal hit and run crash on April 5, 2023, on West End Avenue at 28th Avenue North is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and grand jury indictment of the driver who struck him.

The investigation shows that a gray sedan, possibly a Toyota, Nissan, or Hyundai was traveling east on West End Avenue and turned left into the alleyway near McDonalds at a high rate of speed when the car struck Matthew Bennett, 28, of Louisiana, who was in the crosswalk. The vehicle continued off the roadway and struck Dodd, 55, of Nashville.

Witnesses reported that the suspect vehicle briefly stopped but fled northbound.

Both pedestrians were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where Dodd later died. Bennett recovered from his injuries.

The $2,500 offer is good until July 2, 2024. Anyone with information about the vehicle and/or its driver is urged to contact Hit and Run investigators at 615-862-7738 or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
