RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN – WGNS has more details on a fire that claimed the life of a Christiana man this past Friday night. The identity of the victim has been confirmed to be 67-year-old Kyle Thomas McAfee. Evidently, McAfee, who was the homeowner, died just 29-days before his 68th birthday.

Rutherford County Fire Rescue initially responded to the fire at 8888 Arnold Road at around 8-o'clock Friday night, August 18, 2023. Once on the scene, crews worked to extinguish the blaze that had quickly overtaken the manufactured home. Firemen also worked to ensure a large propane tank on the side of the mobile home did not explode.

Property records show that McAfee lived in the home for the past 10-years. Records also indicate the home had a large front and back porch that appeared to have been added after the original home was installed on the property in 1986.

Now, the Rutherford County Fire Marshal’s Office is leading an investigation into what caused the fire.
