(ROCKVALE, TN) At 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon (8/27/2023) elected officials, emergency responders and area residents toured the new Public Health and Safety Building.
Community residents toured the new Rockvale Health and Public Safety Building after a flag-raising ceremony Sunday to open the new facility on New Salem Highway.
The building houses Rutherford County Fire & Rescue firefighters along with facilities for Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and Rutherford County Health Department.
At the groundbreaking ceremony in January 2022, Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh said, ““The buildings will help us bring services closer to the communities we serve.”
The building may also be used by Rockvale High, Middle and Elementary Schools’ students and as a community center.
Rutherford County is constructing Public Safety Buildings to be able to quickly serve rural areas of the county with police, fire, and ambulance services. (Note: Rutherford County Mayor Joe Carr will be on WGNS this coming Wednesday morning and will include updates on the other sites.)
