On Monday (08/28/23) afternoon Anderson’s luck ran out when Cannon County deputies and investigators went to a home on the rural Parker Hill Road. At the home, investigator P. Reed talked to 44-year-old Justin Taggart, who allowed investigators and deputies inside the residence. The wanted fugitive was quickly located in the living room. Deputy T. Boling and Investigator B. Crouch placed 50-year-old Anderson in handcuffs. Deputy C. Myers and Investigator Reed arrested Taggart on charges for harboring the fugitive.

50-Year-old Anderson was originally arrested this past April, after being pulled over in Woodbury on a minor traffic violation. When the Sheriff’s Deputy asked Anderson to step out of the vehicle, he allegedly put the SUV in drive and fled the area. During the pursuit, a passenger jumped out of the moving vehicle.

That pursuit ended when Anderson lost control and struck a tree, according to deputies. Both Anderson and the vehicle were searched. Deputies reported finding multiple baggies of methamphetamine and large amounts of drug paraphernalia. Law enforcement officials say they recovered 329 grams of methamphetamine and 15 grams of marijuana.

Mr. Anderson was charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest, false imprisonment, reckless endangerment, vandalism, unlawful possession of a firearm by convicted felon, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule 6 drug (marijuana), maintaining a dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject also faces multiple traffic citations. After his arrest this past April, Anderson remained at the Cannon County Jail until his escape at the end of June.
