Patty Marschel Named Chair of Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital's Board

(MURFREESBORO) Congratulations to Patty Marschel who takes over the reins as the chair of the board of directors for Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She is reportedly the first woman to hold this position. 

In fact, Marschel has served on the hospital's board for 17-years before this elevation to chair.

This 28-year agent with Parks Realty has been a longtime supporter of the local hospital having served earlier on the board of Ascension Rutherford St. Thomas Foundation. 

Patty Marschel is a UT Knoxville graduate, and she and her husband John have resided here in Rutherford County for over 50-years. They are members of First United Methodist Church. 

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford is a critical care hospital with advanced specialty care services here in Murfreesboro. 

The hospital is always improving its facilities to better serve this community. 

Back in March, 2023, Ascension opened Tennessee's first community hospital to serve the rapidly growing Blackman-Westlawn Community on Veterans Parkway at I-840. Westlawn Neighborhood Hospital and ER has 32,000-square feet with eight private inpatient medical beds and an emergency department with eight treatment rooms.

In addition, the main campus on Medical Center Parkway is currently expanding services with a multi-level patient parking garage alongside a soon to be constructed Cancer Treatment Center as well as separate St. Thomas Heart offering everything from heart and vascular screenings to surgery.
