A fiery single-vehicle crash that occurred on Sunday shortly after 3 a.m. on I-24 West at Hickory Hollow Parkway claimed the lives of one man and two women.

NEW: The three persons killed in the wreck are identified as Tony Stewart (male driver), 47, Cristie Roake (female front seat passenger), 47, and Danya Gray (female backseat passenger), 48. All three were from Nashville.  

The preliminary investigation released by Metro Nashville Police shows a 4-door Kia traveling west on I-24 left the roadway and struck a tree in the grass median at the Hickory Hollow Parkway exit. The vehicle burst into flames in the wreck. The three occupants of the car died at the scene. 

Don Aaron with the Metro Police Department confirmed, "The car was registered in Davidson County."
