Multi-Vehicle Crash, One Vehicle Catches Fire, Driver Trapped--Lascassas Pike Kroger Store

(MURFREESBORO) Saturday evening shortly before 8:00 o'clock 911 received notice that a five-vehicle crash had occurred at the intersection of Lascassas Pike and Rutherford Boulevard, in front of Burger King and Krogers. 

Public Information Officer Larry Flowers told WGNS, "The driver of one vehicle was trapped inside when it caught on fire. Murfreesboro Firefighters quickly extinguised the blaze and extricated the person. The young adult male was taken by LifeFlight to the Vanderbilt Burn Center."

There was another injury, and that patient was transported to Vanderbilt by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services. 

Another injured person was taken to the ER at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. 

There is no word on the conditions of any of these injured persons, and FACT Team members are interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence and making crash photos. The investigation is underway. 

One vehicle caught fire. MFRD firefighters extinguished the fire and helped free the driver who was trapped in the vehicle. That person was taken to the hospital by helicopter. Another patient transported by ambulance. No word on their condition. Investigation continues.
