A death inside Peck Hall on the MTSU campus is what led to the building on campus being shut down and classes canceled Wednesday.
Police determined the victim entered Peck around 3 a.m. and was alone in the building until discovered around 7:20 a.m. While there is no threat to the campus, Peck Hall will remain closed today (Wednesday) with classes canceled and offices closed. Activities will resume as scheduled on Thursday, Nov. 2. Per Tennessee law, Murfreesboro Police is the lead investigator on unattended deaths and will issue updates as deemed appropriate."
The incident has led to a police presence at Peck Hall on the university campus. It has also led the university to cancel classes in the building that has traditionally been used for both literature and psychology departments.
