(MURFREESBORO)  Don't be surprised if you see a tall man with a top hat walking around town over the next few days. The Heart of Tennessee has a distinguished visitor in our community. Word is that with the 160th anniversary of the Gettysburgh Address, that talk will be reintroduced by Murfreesboro Little Theatre in Maney Hall at Oaklands Mansion by a Lincoln lookalike--storyteller Jacob Truax.

Storyteller Jacob Truax is a "Lincoln look-alike", and he will transport you to Nov. 19, 1863 when the original address was given by President Lincoln at the closing of the dedication ceremonies for the battlefield cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Some of the famous phrases from Lincoln's address include, "Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. “Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure."

There is only one performance at Oaklands Mansion (900 N. Maney Ave.). It is at 6:00 o'clock on Sunday evening (11/12/2023).

Tickets, which include charcuterie and refreshments, are on sale now by Murfreesboro Little Theatre. Members of either organization will receive a discount. Please do not bring outside food or dink. Service animals only please. We look forward to seeing you at Oaklands Mansion.
