MTSU Director of Athletics Chris Massaro directed a statement to Blue Raider football fans on the search for a new football head coach.
"As MTSU athletics is in the midst of a national search for our next head football coach, I wanted to provide an update on the process as of Friday afternoon. First, I want to convey that interest in our program and this job is tremendously high and we have already communicated with several quality candidates.
We have conducted 16 Zoom interviews and four phone interviews as part of the hiring procedure, while also going through the vetting process. While we cannot share more specific information at this time to protect the integrity of the search, the process is moving swiftly.
I want to assure you that we will thoroughly evaluate and do everything required to find the right individual to lead the Blue Raider football program. My hope is to name a new head coach sometime next week. Thank you for your patience as we look forward to bringing you our 15th head coach in school history."
