MURFREESBORO, TN - The Captain William Lytle Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently raised funds for a local non-profit that started in Rutherford County. That non-profit was A Soldier's Child.

To raise money, a raffle was held with the prize being a handmade quilt that was stitched by DAR member Teresa Kant. The prized quilt displayed pictures of historic places throughout Rutherford County. DAR Member Sherri Harding in Murfreesboro told WGNS the quilt was a success... She went on to tell us the name of the quilt winner... The winning ticket was sold at Cannonsburgh Village during Harvest Days this past October.

Funds raised for A Soldier's Child by the DAR has turned into almost $10,000. Harding explained...

Money raised by the Captain William Lytle Chapter of the DAR in Murfreesboro was presented to A Soldier’s Child this past weekend during a special event. The handmade quilt was also presented to raffle winner Marie Crisp on Saturday.
