Pinwheels Twirl on South Church to bring awareness to Child Abuse

A sea of approximately 700 blue pinwheels will twirl in the front lawn of the Rutherford County Juvenile Justice System for the next week as a part of Child Abuse Awareness month.

Rutherford Coalition Against Child Abuse Chairman Jeff Puster was working with other volunteers outside the Juvenile Court Building early Friday morning. He told WGNS News how many pinwheels were there and what they symbolized . . .

Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee has placed 95,000 pinwheels across the state on this day. That's number of children estimated to be born in Tennessee this year. Locally, around 700 blue pinwheels were placed in the front lawn of the Rutherford County Juvenile Court Building at 1710 S. Church Street.
