(MURFREESBORO) Southeast Baptist Church, 708 Minerva Drive, is gifting to the community its 39th Annual Bethlehem Marketplace. Marketplace is a walk-through drama re-enacting how the village of Bethlehem might have appeared the morning after the birth of Jesus. Admission is free, parking is free--it is open noon to 5:00PM Saturday and Sunday.

Its atmosphere and surroundings are those of 2000 years ago, and features characters in historically-accurate costumes such as Roman soldiers, prisoners, tentmakers, weavers, carpenters, merchants in shops, census-takers, and more. Talk among the Marketplace residents and hear the excitement in this story from long, long-ago. There are live camels, sheep goats, chickens and more.

In years past, the presentation has drawn as many as 8,000 guests over the weekend from all across the United States. The event is free of charge, there is no admission, and nothing is actually for sale. No reservations are required and tour time averages about one hour, even at times of peak crowds.

Those who attend this December will be entertained in the sanctuary with Christmas music from local school choirs, groups, individuals, and more. Guest can also view videos while waiting their turn to enter Bethlehem at 708 Minerva Drive.
