(MIDDLE TENNESSEE) Upper Middle Tennessee was hit by deadly tornadoes in areas around Madison, Hendersonville, Gallatin and Clarksville around 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon (12/9/2023) Many families are now homeless and six persons are confirmed dead.

Many of the victims don't know where to turn, and so they look to social media and GO FUND ME for assistance.

Angelique McNaughton from GoFundMe's Corporate Affairs and Communications team said, "Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating tornadoes that struck Tennessee Saturday afternoon."

GoFundMe’s Trust & Safety team is monitoring the platform for tornado assistance. The group's crisis response team is reviewing those requests so that prsons affected can receive the quick and trusted help they need.

The needs of the victims vary dramatically. GoFundMe reports that many have lost their homes in the tornadoes, including a couple expecting a child and a teacher. A family’s dog will also need to have its leg amputated after it was crushed by a tree during the storm.

To make it easier to help, people can also donate to the 2023 Tornado Relief Fund established by GoFundMe.Org, GoFundMe’s nonprofit charitable partner. This fund provides fast, direct help to those affected by the tornadoes.

Here are requests that have been verified by GoFundMe:
