The TSSAA Board of Control will meet on Thursday, January 11 at the TSSAA office building in Hermitage. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. CST.

The Board will discuss classification for Lacrosse, which will begin its inaugural season as a sanctioned sport with TSSAA during the 2024-25 school year.

The Board will determine the length of the next classification cycle and what, if any, significant changes they would like to explore regarding the classification structure for all sports.

A recommendation from the TSSAA Softball Advisory Committee that TSSAA allow for the use of a double first base when available as permitted by state association adoption in the NFHS Softball Rules Book will be considered by the Board.

One school, Battle Creek High School, has submitted a request to join the association.

Three schools, Upperman High School, Oakdale High School, and The Howard School, will be appearing before the Board to appeal disciplinary action that came as a result of unsportsmanlike incidents that occurred at boys’ basketball contests involving each school.
