Christiana, TN - On Wednesday, a residential fire brought Rutherford County Fire and Rescue (RCFR) crews racing to the 200 block of Applewood Lane in Christiana, near the intersection of Shelbyville Pike and Rucker Road. The incident, which unfolded in a small subdivision, involved a detached garage, an RV, and five cars engulfed in flames.

The county fire department received the emergency call and promptly dispatched units to the scene. Remarkably, RCFR arrived within six minutes, demonstrating the efficiency of their response. The detached garage and vehicles were already ablaze when crews arrived, presenting a formidable challenge.

Crews from RCFR swiftly initiated firefighting efforts to contain the blaze, strategically working to prevent it from spreading to nearby residences and additional vehicles. Despite the intensity of the fire, the vibrant actions of the firefighting teams ensured that the flames were brought under control.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The property owner, who was at home during the fire, escaped unharmed. The rapid response and coordinated efforts of RCFR, Christiana Volunteer Fire Department, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services, and deputies from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office played a crucial role in mitigating potential damages.

Mutual aid was extended by the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department, highlighting the collaborative approach among the city and county in times of crisis.

As investigations into the incident continue, the Rutherford County Fire Marshal’s Office has taken the lead in determining the cause of the fire. The close-knit community in Christiana, although shaken by the incident, can take solace in the fact that emergency responders acted swiftly to protect lives and property.
