TVA Hopes to Avoid Rolling Blackouts with Improvements & Tips on Staying Warm from MTE

(MURFREESBORO) While the snow forecast is grabbing the attention, the arctic cold that's invaded Middle Tennessee has some thinking about the last cold snap Christmas weekend of 2022. That's when the Tennessee Valley Authority forced power companies to do rolling blackouts. The TVA has been working since to make improvements to the power grid by building temporary enclosures for critical equipment and installing alternate heat sources.

Even with power, the dangerously cold weather can still make it hard to stay warm inside. Amy Byers with Middle Tennessee Electric says taking temporary measures to keep cold air out will help:
