Murfreesboro, TN - Butch Vaughn, a lifelong resident of Rutherford County and a distinguished career educator, has officially declared his candidacy for the Rutherford County School Board, Zone 6. With an extensive background in education, Vaughn aims to contribute his wealth of experience to further enhance the county's educational system.

A proud graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School and Middle Tennessee State University, Vaughn holds a Bachelor of Science degree, a Masters Degree in Administration and Supervision, and a Specialist In Education degrees. His dedication to education is evident in his diverse roles, serving as a teacher, coach, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Headmaster throughout his career.


Vaughn's commitment to Rutherford County students has been unwavering. He began his journey as a teacher and coach at Murfreesboro Central High School and went on to assume leadership roles as the Principal of Central Middle School, Principal of Blackman Middle School, and Principal of Oakland High School. He also served as the Headmaster at Providence Christian Academy, concluding his educational career as an Adjunct Professor at Middle Tennessee State University in the Womack Leadership Program within the College of Education.

Having played a vital role as a school evaluator for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Vaughn brings a deep understanding of educational standards and quality assessment. His dedication to both vocational education and college preparation reflects his comprehensive approach to student development.
