Murfreesboro, TN - Middle Tennessee State University's Board of Trustees are scheduled to convene for committee meetings on Tuesday, February 27, at the Miller Education Center, Second Floor Meeting Room, located at 503 Bell St. The meetings will provide an opportunity for the board to discuss various matters pertinent to the university's academic, governance, financial, and compliance affairs.

One of the topics during the committee meetings will address artificial intelligence, or AI. Committee members will review proposed changes to student rules, specifically focusing on Policy 312 regarding Academic Misconduct. The revisions aim to incorporate provisions related to artificial intelligence (AI) and streamline the review process for allegations of academic misconduct. Notably, the updated policy addresses the unauthorized use of paraphrasing tools, "text spinners," and AI software, expanding the scope of plagiarism prevention efforts within the university.
