Road Rage UPDATE: 1 Dead

Murfreesboro, TN - Here's an update on Saturday (4/13/2024) night's road rage incident that occured around 7:44PM on South Rutherford Boulevard near Broad Street (near Publix). One of the victims who was shot is dead and the other is in stable condition.

Although the investigation still has not determined what caused the road rage, the crime involved an SUV and several motorcyclists. The two victims who were shot were bike riders.

The driver of the SUV is 49-year old Joseph Gann. He was taken into custody and arrested on multiple-charges not long after the road rage happened.

Murfreesboro, TN - Murfreesboro Police closed a section of roadway shortly before 8:00PM Saturday evening (4/13/2024) as the result of what is throught to be a road rage incident. South Rutherford Boulevard from Southeast Broad (Manchester Highway, at Publix Supermarket) was closed to S. Church Street (next to Ramada Inn).

Police say the incident involves the driver of an SUV and a group of motorcyclists. 

Murfreesboro Police PIO Larry Flowers said, "Shots were fired and two motorcyclists were struck. Both were taken to the hospital."

At this time, their condition has not been released.

WGNS has learned that the driver of the SUV is in police custody.
