High School Chess Champions 8AM Saturday at Patterson Community Center

Murfreesboro, TN -  Eight Rutherford County high schools have entered their champions to play this Saturday morning (4/20/2024) in the inaugural Contest of High School Chess Champions at Patterson Park Community Center (521 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Murfresboro). 

Participants will register at 8:30AM, followed by pairings, introductions and welcome at 8:45AM. The games begin promptly at 9:00AM. 



Participating high schools include Riverdale, Smyrna, Blackman, Central Magnet, LaVergne, Oakland, Stewarts Creek, and Middle Tennessee Christian School. 

This thrilling event is championed by Rutherford County Property Assessor Rob Mitchell. His visionary partnership with Rutherford County Schools ensures that each high school is well-equipped with chess materials, preparing these young minds for the ultimate championship.
